Accessibility Aids Score is based on a detailed accessibility scan algorithm that compares your site's accessibility against a comprehensive WCAG rule base. The fewer accessibility violations found in the site's code, the higher the resulting score. Factors that influence the score include the number and severity of WCAG failures and the ratio of successes to failures.
Key factors that influence the score include:
- The number and severity of the test rules passed or failed
- The weighting factor for each WCAG rule, based on the rule's impact on the user experience
- A failed rule may have a low impact on the resulting score if the number of failed elements for a specific rule is negligible compared to the number of passed elements for the same rule (e.g., impact will be negligible if 1 out of 50 images is missing alternative text)
- A very high ratio of failed rules will cause a penalty factor to be added to the resulting score
- A very high ratio of passed rules will induce a reward factor on the resulting score
